Can't mother of bride wear tux?
There are blatant inequities when it comes to wedding attire for males and females. Men do not try on tux after tux, tossing them over the fitting room door with sighs of exasperation, rejecting cummerbunds five, 10 and 20 at a time, vowing to give up carbs and try Pilates. .

How Uploading Works
This article was adapted from a lecture given by Marshall Brain at the 2nd Annual Workshop on Geoethical Nanotechnology on July 20, 2006 in Lincoln, VT. Marshall an author, public speaker and founder of HowStuffWorks, offers an understanding and explanation of the pace of technology change how he believes in two to three decades, 'mind uploading' will work. [Video: Streaming Windows Media DSL/Cable or Dialup] [Video: Google version (Mac compatible)] [PowerPoint slides] [Audio (mp3)] I might not actually have free will. When I raise my arm, I might not have actually done that; part of my subconscious might have done that and caused me to raise it. I perceive it is free will but it may not be. Even though I have perceived there is one me and I think of myself as a single person, there might actually be multiple things behind me that are being integrated into an illusion that I am me. Now I’m supposed to talk knowing that I’m hallucinating an illusion and whatever else.
Inflation Worries Rise for Food, Energy
Consumers had cause to cheer, or at least applaud politely, this week when the government forecast summer gasoline prices slightly below last year's. The outlook may not be as benign for visits to their favorite supermarkets and restaurants, among other destinations _ and perhaps for rates on their credit-card and mortgage bills, either. Prices on everything from cereal and milk to soft drinks and red meat are on the upswing, due partly to the ethanol and biodiesel boom which is pushing up prices for corn and other commodities. High energy prices also remain troublesome, regardless whether gas tops $3 a gallon, and clothing costs are up this year too. All that explains why Federal Reserve policymakers cited "uncomfortably high" inflation readings as being their biggest worry, according to minutes released Wednesday of their private discussions last month.
Blaze of Glory: Raging inferno or PPV sham?
This weekend features the second major pay-per-view card of the year, titled "Blaze of Glory." The headlining act features boxing's version of a four-alarm fire, as 2006 Fighter of the Year Manny Pacquiao (43-3-2, 34 KOs) makes his 2007 debut, squaring off against undefeated Jorge Solis (32-0-2, 23 KOs) in a 12-round battle Saturday). The first question that naturally comes to mind: Is the card worth the asking price ($44.95)? The show comes at an ideal time. HBO has nothing scheduled until the end of the month (April 28), with their lightweight bout between Acelino Freitas and Juaz Diaz. Their last card came this past weekend, as much as everyone would like to forget. Joe Calzaghe's mismatch against Peter Manfredo Jr. proved even more unworthy of airtime than already was the case on paper.
