Video: Shopping Euphoria Brought to Life: TJ Maxx Launches Maxx ...

FRAMINGHAM, Mass., April 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- In shopping and fashion, there is the thrill of the hunt, and then comes the pure, unmatchable exhilaration of the "find." The bargain find that is! There is nothing better than uncovering an amazing piece of designer fashion at an incredible price. A recent survey by Caravan Opinion Research found that 15% of women who responded loved nothing more than to share that exhilaration with everyone around them, while only 2% are inclined to talk about their extravagant, high end purchases. Inspired by a woman's need to divulge her amazing find, national off-price retailer, T.J. Maxx has launched a new marketing campaign, and a new phrase into pop culture-the Maxx Moment.

What is a Maxx Moment?

"A Maxx Moment is a spontaneous display of joy and euphoria brought on by the combination of great savings and hot designer fashion, and that need to share that joy," said Laura McDowell, T.J.

Montrose Retail Gives Ouray County Shoppers More Choices

The City of Montrose retail market continues its unprecedented expansion as an emerging regional alternative to Grand Junction with the addition of two new anchor "big box" retail stores, J.C. Penney Co. and a Target Corporation store, early this fall.

Those retail outlets will have a direct effect on Ouray County residents.

"I’m thrilled as an individual; Montrose lacks good options," said Judy Frantz Grieser, executive director of the Ouray Chamber of Commerce. "Especially in generalized merchandise."

The addition of these retail giants – Minneapolis-based Target, which opened its first store in 1962, rivals Wal-Mart and operates 1,502 nationwide in 47 states – will be welcomed by those who currently commute two hours to Grand Junction’s Mesa Mall to the closest Penney’s and Target stores.

A marvel of the modern age

You probably don't think too much about supply chain management. You might not even know what it is. But it's very important and it makes the world go around.

Supply chain management, or SCM, is the art and science of getting materials and products from one place to the other most efficiently.

Every truck on the roads, container on a ship or train, or supermarket item with a bar code scanned at the checkout is part of a complex system of supply and demand - a web of interlocking relationships at the core of commerce.

We take for granted that goods mysteriously appear in shops and that we buy pretty well whatever we want, when we want.

If a supermarket runs out of our favourite cereal or if we can't get even the most obscure item shipped to us immediately from its online store we regard it as something of an affront, a fraying in the fabric of the natural order of things.

Too dangerous for rats but good enough for Fido

Here's the thing pet lovers are missing about the Canadian company that sold the tainted food blamed for at least 14 dead pets: One: their products are still on store shelves across North America. Two: their profit line comes in part from a poison they import from China.

The still-on-store-shelves update was announced on Saturday by on-the-ball www.Briebart.com.

While it is true that Toronto-based Menu Foods has admitted it is worried customers will still find its products on store shelves, the multi-million dollar corporation is leaving it to individual store owners to remove its products, saying they should remove them no matter what the production date.

"There is no known risk from items not listed on the recall list but an abundance of caution is called for in this situation.

Going for Google Apps

It is slowly catching on among some Asian organisations but it takes a change in mindset and habits, reports Victoria Ho.

A Malaysian education council faced a number of obstacles when upgrading its IT infrastructure. Students at the 78 schools controlled by the council, Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan (SMJK), wanted a way to share documents, have personal school email accounts and be connected to the school system for homework updates. But funding was the biggest obstacle. Since the school group's IT relied on the charity of external parties and organisations, it was not about to upgrade its entire hardware architecture. In fact, Microsoft licences for its Office suite were beginning to be a problem, and the group turned to its open-source counterpart, Open Office, instead.

Slow down and smell the Wolfpack

DID YOU SEE the online video where Houston Texans defensive end Mario Williams goes warp speed in his Lamborghini on Interstate 40 in North Carolina?

Dang. I knew I should have drafted him for my NASCAR fantasy league.

We know all this because his night racing was captured on video by a young lady in the passenger seat of his $300,000 ride. That footage was spliced together with video shot from a friend's car that couldn't keep up. Then his personal "Talladega Nights" sequel was posted to the Internet.

I'm sure Williams is proud that he was the No. 1 overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft. But hey buddy, you don't have to try to claim the pole position in everything.

Williams was visiting Raleigh to take in the North Carolina State spring game.
